Greetings From The Pastor

Greetings From The Pastor

Thank you for taking the time to visit our church web page and learning more about our church mission, ministries, and staff. We are especially grateful to those who may also have recently attended one of our recent services at Living Word.

Our church mission statement is that we exist to make disciples who love God, love others, and serve the world. More than simply a motto, we purposely seek to align our teaching, worship services, and ministries around those anchors and principles. We seek to build our church on the foundation of God’s Word and to provide faithful and clear Bible teaching that helps people to live out God’s wisdom in their families and daily lives. Our various home groups facilitate prayer, friendship and encouragement, and the effectiveness of these groups is reflected in how they continue to grow and multiply. Real growth in the church occurs when members become ministers, which is why we believe it is vitally important to provide opportunities for our members to use their spiritual gifts in ministering to others in the church and to serve and share Jesus with those outside the church as well. We are a church committed to missions and world evangelism and support individual missionaries as well as the SBC Cooperative Program. We are especially excited that God continues to call people from our own fellowship to serve in cross-cultural ministries in other countries.

I am privileged to serve as the pastor of this church and a great congregation made up of followers of Jesus who love the Lord and who encourage and serve each other as they grow together in Christ. It is also a blessing to serve alongside a team of committed and faithful pastors, ministry leaders, and lay elders and deacons. I have been a member of Living Word for more than ten years, and my wife Marilyn and I are blessed to call Living Word our church home and our family. Many of our staff and ministry leaders also have worshipped and served at Living Word for a number of years. Their longevity in service reflects their commitment to our church body but also that Living Word is their family as well. We believe that you will find that same kind of family atmosphere as well as a church home if the Lord is leading you to join us at Living Word. We look forward to the opportunity to serve you in the near future and hope to see you soon at one of our services.

Yours in Christ,
Gary Yates
