Felicia Campbell
Felicia Campbell is a School Counselor, Deaf Advocate for Jamaica, and ministers to the Deaf and hearing community in Jamaica.
She was born Deaf in Jamaica 🇯🇲, into a Christian, multi-cultured home. Her parents are missionaries. Felicia also lived with guardians while going to schooling in the United States in her teen years.
She attended 9 schools total – Jamaica, St. Vincent, Florida, Colorado, Virginia, & Georgia. She graduated from Liberty University in Virginia with a BS degree in Psychology.
Felicia came to know Christ at the age of 8 and was baptized at 17. She has been married for 22 years to Damian, a Deaf Jamaican. They returned to Jamaica one year after getting married. They have 3 children, currently 19, 18, & 16 years.
Felicia loves traveling, reading, watching movies, swimming, nature & trying different foods.
About LWDR
Our first retreat was held October 2007 in the Outer Banks with 24 ladies attending. Over the years, the word has spread and we have an average of 75 – 90 ladies in attendance the last several years.
Living Word Deaf Ladies Retreat uses ASL as the primary means of communication. All speakers or those who share do so fluently in sign language. Voice interpreters are provided upon request. We support equal access for the Deaf and hearing who attend.
This is a team effort! We have a team based out of Living Word Deaf Church in Forest, Virginia which hosts the retreats, however, others (from out of state) have also joined our team throughout the years. Our team participates in a training workshop every year, where a speaker comes in to prepare and challenge our hearts for that year’s retreat.
