Worship

“As the deer pants for flowing streams, so pants my soul for You, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.” Psalm 42:1-2

“The fuel of worship is the truth of God. The furnace of worship is the spirit of man; the heat of worship is the vital affections of reverence, contrition, trust, gratitude and joy… The fire that makes the fuel burn white hot is the quickening of the Holy Spirit; the furnace made alive and warm by the flame of truth is our renewed spirit; and the resulting heat of our affections is powerful worship, pushing its way out in confessions, longings, acclamations, tears, songs, shouts, bowed heads, lifted hands and obedient lives.” John Piper, Desiring God

Our worship becomes authentic when our affections and not merely our will are engaged with and toward God. That is when we worship with our heart and not only our head. We cannot worship out of duty any more than we can love our spouses or our brothers and sisters in Christ out of duty. It then becomes meaningless. When our hearts are close to God, worship arises. Pray that God will cause your heart to long for Him and that He will give you a desire to see his glory.

Our sincere desire in this ministry is to worship God through knowing the truth of His Word and allowing it to overwhelm our hearts in praise to Him. The glory of God is our goal to see it, to reveal it, and to bring it to His name. We pray no one remembers our names or our songs when we leave, but that they are left dwelling on the name of Jesus Christ and His goodness and glory and that we are brought to repentance.

Philipians 2:3 “Do nothing from rivalry or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves.”
